This is a two-part, 5-day workshop on programming, data visualization, data engineering, and data analysis.

Day 3 (January 22, 2026): Introduction to Data Analysis

1. Basic Exploratory Data Analysis in Python

Day 4 (January 23, 2026): Introduction to Supervised Learning Methods

1. Prediction using Regression Analysis

2. Classification Models

3. Overview on Advanced ML 

 

Day 5 (January 24, 2026): Capstone Completion and Presentation Given a provided list of available data sets, participants will:

1. Choose a data set of interest for analysis

2. Perform the Exploratory Data Analysis on the data set of interest while answering guide questions  

3. Identify a goal for analysis regarding the data set and perform advanced data analysis techniques to achieve the goal  

4. Report findings through a simple python notebook.


REGISTRATION AND WORKSHOP FEE

The workshop is designed for participants who hold a Bachelor’s degree, possess basic programming skills, and have a fundamental understanding of statistics. Participants are required to bring their own laptops. Those who wish to participate should register through the following online form:

We are encouraging everyone to support the UP Diliman Mathematics Foundation, Inc. in its goal of providing incentives and awards to faculty members of the Institute of Mathematics.

The UP Diliman Mathematics Foundation Inc is presently seeking financial support for Junior Faculty Grants (18000 pesos/JFG), Faculty Research Grants (24000 pesos/FRG), and the Honesto 'Bong' Nuqui Professorial Chair.
